LA CROSSE, Wis. — Oktoberfest USA is shaking up its ticketing structure for the 2025 festival, moving away from bundled ticket packages and Klub Memberships to a fully customizable a la carte system, organizers announced Monday. The change, detailed in a press release, gives attendees more control over their festival experience.
Starting this year, festivalgoers can purchase tickets, commemorative items, and personal sponsorships individually, allowing them to tailor their Oktoberfest experience to their preferences. “This allows you to fully customize your experience and choose exactly what you want,” the release stated, noting that guests can now skip items they don’t need, whether it’s an admission wristband, a specific keepsake, or a way to support the fest.
The shift also includes operational updates designed to streamline the on-site experience. Following a sometimes bumpy transition away from beverage tickets, organizers confirmed that no beverages or refillable steins will be pre-loaded onto wristbands in 2025. Instead, attendees can add cash to their wristbands at the box office ahead of time or during the event, a move intended to keep bar lines moving smoothly. “We truly appreciate your understanding and patience,” the release said, acknowledging past challenges.
Oktoberfest USA is also simplifying its ticket offerings after investments in entrance efficiency paid off. Attends will choose from General Admission ($25), a complimentary Military/Veteran wristband (limited to 2,000, redeemable in-person with proof of service), or Craft Beer Night options (VIP at $100, General Admission at $70, both including full weekend grounds access). Free admission is still offered on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 25, online at the Oktoberfest website, with shipping available through Sept. 11. In-person purchases at the Oktoberfest Office begin July 28 and run through Sept. 27.
Organizers say the changes reflect a commitment to making Oktoberfest more personalized and convenient. “We believe this change will enhance your experience,” the release concluded, encouraging attendees to reach out with questions. As La Crosse gears up for its 64th Oktoberfest, the longest-running in the Midwest, the new approach promises a fresh take on a beloved tradition.
